Are there infections that I can catch from marine wounds?

Yes, there are diseases that can be caught through marine transmission.  These including cellulitis (redness and swelling), erysipelas (red streaks on the body due to infection of the lymph channels), and necrotizing of soft tissues (due to bacterial infection).  The first two can be treated easily, but necrotization of tissues requires surgery to treat.
