Can I dive after my gastrointestinal surgery?

Typically, as long as an individual heals and gets clearance to dive from their surgeon after a predetermined amount of time, the answer would be yes.  For instance, bowel obstruction surgery would require a minimum of three months to heal whereas a hernia six weeks.
