Can I get hepatitis from sharing diving equipment?

Hepatitis C might be the most feared of the diseases.  Most divers with this disease should not be diving, particularly if they acquired it from drug use, if there is cirrhosis of the liver, and if their disease is advanced.  Since hepatitis can be spread quite easily through saliva, it is important to ensure that diving equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized to avoid transmission of the disease.
