Do marine plants have medicinal uses?

Yes, marine plants, particularly seaweeds, are used in a number of medicinal ways.  The iodine in seaweed is used to treat thyroid problems.  Seaweed is also believed to have curative effects on arthritis, tuberculosis, influenza, and colds.
