Most people have the misconception that scuba diving is an extremely expensive sport but in truth, it is very affordable, especially when compared to other water activities. As a beginning diver, you could spend as little as $500 for good dive equipment but if you’re confident and want to build up your skills, an investment of $1,000 to $1,800 is reasonable. This way, you could transition from a beginner to moderate diver without needing to purchase a second set of equipment. Of course, once you reach the advanced level, it would be time to purchase a complete system that could run anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000 respectively. Alternatively, you can choose to rent your gear until you are comfortable making the purchase.
