What is the biggest challenge in taking excellent photographs underwater?

Lighting is always an issue since water is transparent.  Because water refracts light, filters colors, and is capable of possessing an endless number of small particles floating between you and the object being photographed, depth range is at maximum 80 feet.  Photographs taken while on a dive look extremely different from those taken on land, having a gray/blue/green color.  To make sure light refracts evenly and the floating particles do not affect quality, it is imperative to use a high quality strobe flash.
