What was the name of the company and owner that first imported the Jacques Cousteau's Aqua Lung to the United States?

Rene’s Sporting Goods, located in Westwood, California was owned by one of Jacques Cousteau’s relatives, Rene Bussoz.  After importing Aqua Lungs to the Unites States, this piece of diving gear became even more popular.  Rene’s store opened in 1948 but just one year later, dive shops around the country were following suit.  Unfortunately, Rene’s store did not receive the level of notoriety that it should have due to people claiming to have purchased an Aqua Lung from him in numbers that exceeded available inventory.  Therefore, Rene’s success with importing the Aqua Lung remains a mystery.
