Following a very successful first year, the Australia International Dive Expo (AIDE) will once again bring fun and excitement to scuba diving enthusiasts from all walks of life. Introducing new dive gear from top manufacturers, promoting diving, snorkeling, and free diving, AIDE promises to be a fantastic event.

Australia International Dive Expo – When

The second annual Australia International Dive Expo begins Saturday, September 12 and comes to a conclusion Sunday, September 13, 2015.

Australia International Dive Expo – Where

The Australia International Dive Expo will be taking place at the Royal Hall of Industries, centrally located in Sydney. You’ll find driving directions, public transit information, and a useful map on the event’s location page.

Australia International Dive Expo – Event Highlights

Want to try out the latest diving gear? At the Australia International Dive Expo, you’ll have the opportunity to check out the newest offerings from top manufacturers, with dive try outs available in the on-site pool.

Numerous vendors, gear manufacturers, travel agencies, dive operators, and conservation groups will be at the show, promoting awareness about diving, free diving, snorkeling, and ongoing marine conservation efforts throughout Australia and beyond.

Not to be missed is the world’s first perpetual underwater shootout, known as the Underwater Project. All visitors are encouraged to take part. Come prepared by visiting the Underwater Project page before attending the expo.

Special speakers will be providing presentations throughout the course of the event. While AIDE organizers are still in the process of finalizing plans for this year, some top names in diving were on hand for last year’s event and are likely to participate again. Michael McFadyen, Mark Eliott, Dr. Kay Dimmrock, Jack McGrath, and Sarah Richmond are just some of the presenters from the previous show.

Don’t miss the opportunity to win fun prizes, and be sure to keep up with the Australia International Dive Expo on their Facebook page.

Australia International Dive Expo – Places to Stay and Things to See

Sydney is a beautiful city with lots of fantastic hotels, plus several smaller inns, B&B’s, and holiday apartments. Restaurants featuring favorite local fare and international cuisine are numerous, as are night clubs, movie theatres, and other entertainment options.

While you’re in Sydney, be sure to take in a few attractions. Enjoy a romantic walk along beautiful Bondi beach and take in the spectacular clifftop views, or spend some time enjoying the plants and bird life at the Royal Botanic Gardens. Visit the Chinese Garden of Friendship or stroll along the Manly Scenic Walkway, or get away from the hustle and bustle with a quick trip to Shelly Beach, a lovely local hideaway.

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the scuba diving. Whether you spring for a quick shark dive at the Manly Sea Life Sanctuary, dive with the playful Australian fur seals, or take a trip out to Voodoo, the Steps, Bare Island, Gordan’s  Bay, or other local sites, you’re certain to have a splendid time.
