For the second year in a row, Our World Underwater is announcing the World of Water Phoenix Dive & Travel Expo. You’ll find the latest and greatest offerings from major dive equipment manufacturers, training agencies, local dive centers, travel brokers and destinations. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in seminars and workshops. Last but certainly not least, this year’s expo features a film festival.
Our World Underwater – World of Water Phoenix Dive and Travel Expo – When
With a little something for everyone, the expo begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, and continues through until 6:00 p.m. The film festival takes place Saturday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. On Sunday, December 6, the fun begins when the doors open at 10:00 a.m. The expo closes at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

The World of Water Phoenix Dive and Travel Expo will be held at the Phoenix Convention Center, which offers a convenient location near hotels, shopping, and entertainment.

In-depth workshops will be held Saturday and Sunday. Topics will be available on the event webpage. Seminars on various topics will begin Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Business symposiums for dive industry professionals, presentations from travel experts, and special underwater photo / video courses, and manufacturer clinics are just a few highlights.
Be sure to bring the kids, so they can explore the ocean world all weekend long, with special presentations for kids under 10 and age 10 to 15. Children under 10 get into the expo free, and those between 10 and 15 receive a 50% discount on admission.
Don’t miss out on the silent auction, and be sure to enter to win a trip. In the past, attendees have enjoyed all-inclusive trips to Sunset House in Grand Cayman, Riviera Maya in Mexico, Atlantis Philippines, and other fantastic destinations. If you’re lucky, you might even win a liveaboard cruise!

Our World Underwater is partnering with the Hyatt Regency, located just ½ block from the convention center. As host, the Hyatt is offering special room packages for exhibitors and show attendees alike. In the event you’d like to choose a location further from the show venue, you’ll find no shortage of accommodations throughout the Phoenix area; hotels, motels, smaller inns, and even guest ranches are within reasonable distance.
Long to get outside? Phoenix offers everything from hiking and rock climbing in the scenic, surrounding countryside, to golf on pristine courses. The Desert Botanical Garden provides an intriguing look at some of the world’s rarest desert plants. It is one of just 44 botanical gardens accredited by the American Association of Museums, and is well worth a look. For indoor fun, you’ll find museums, shopping, and much more.
If you’re able to stay for a while, consider taking a side trip to the Grand Canyon, either by car or by rail. You’ll see how water carved this incredible geologic feature, plus you can take a look at some incredible examples of Native American architecture.
