What are the pros and cons of a steel scuba diving tank?

Today, the scuba diving tank is made from steel or aluminum.  Of the two, steel tanks cost more but the material is also stronger and more durable.  Most dive experts agree that overall, steel tanks are a great choice in that with proper care and maintenance, they will last forever.  The only downside is the potential to rust but only if not maintained.
