How do anemones reproduce?

Anemones reproduce both sexually and asexually.  Anemones have separate sexes and the male releases its sperm via its mouth and this causes the female to release the eggs the same way.  The eggs of the female are fertilized and each egg turns into a planula.  This planula settles on the sea floor somewhere and grows into an anemone.  Asexual reproduction takes place via a number of methods, the primary of which is budding.  With budding, a new anemone grows out of the body of the old one and once mature, releases itself and anchors in its own place.  Anemones can also split in two, called binary fission, and pieces that are torn off the pedal disc can grow into new anemones.
