How do echinoderms breathe?

Echinoderms have a water vascular system by which water is moved through a network of fluid-filled canals that travel from a central ring and run through the arms of the echinoderm.  These generally extend through holes in the skeleton as the creature's tube feet are used both for locomotion and to get oxygen from the water.
