Why would I want to dive solo?

Solo diving is popular among divers for a few reasons.  Underwater photographers and videographers are often solo divers.  Many divers get their solo certification so that they can dive on their own whenever they go on dive tours rather than getting paired up with a buddy who is less experienced, which can seriously impede their ability to explore and enjoy the recreational diving they had planned on.
