Can humans eat snails?

Yes, humans can eat snails.  Snails are commonly eaten by people in many parts of the world, but primarily in France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Belgium, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia.  Marine snails are the primary type of snail eaten, but fresh water and land snails are also eaten in certain regions.  Some of the most commonly eaten marine snails are conches, abalone, periwinkle, and whelks.
