What are some diving accidents that can be confused with arthritis?

Joint pain of sickle cell anemia, worsened by the hypoxia while diving, and the joint manifestations of decompression sickness (DCS) can often be confused for arthritis.  Another condition mistaken for arthritis is dysbaric osteonecrosis that involves the joint cartilage.
