OZTeK has been a major international dive event since its 1999 introduction. Sometimes referred to by its much longer “official” name, The Australian Diving Technologies Conference and Exhibition, it continues to play an important role in promoting awareness of new technology and dive techniques. Produced by divers for divers and exhibitors, OZTeK Conference and Dive Exhibitition provides unique insight to divers of every level. Let’s take a quick look.
Location
OZTeK 2015 will be held at Sydney’s famous Australian Technology Park, which features a state of the art, 520 seat auditorium with full A/V presentation facilities, a spacious hall, and a number of exhibition spaces spread over 13.8 hectares. An adjoining banquet room and atrium add to the overall appeal, and perhaps best of all, world class scuba diving is available just a short distance away.
Dates
The 2015 Australian Diving Technologies Conference and Exhibition will be held on Saturday, March 14 of 2015 and Sunday, March 15 of 2015. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. both days.
OZTek Highlights
OZTeK 2015 is a full-scale exhibition that caters to every level of diving as well as to all specialties and interests.
The speaker program is top-notch, featuring over sixty presentations, workshops and seminars that focus on the very best dive-related infotainment. You’ll be inspired as you meet, learn from, and talk with over forty of the world’s most accomplished divers at one of the planet’s most prestigious dive expos. Photographer, explorer, and conservationist Michael Aw will be on hand, along with Dr. Peter Buzzacott, who is an expert in diving injuries. Fabled cave diver John Dalla-Zuanna will be present, as will Heather Hamza, Richard Harris, Paul Hosie, Michael Menduno, and a number of other famous dive personalities.
Featuring everything divers require – and some new items we soon won’t want to be without, OZTeK 2015 offers an impressive lineup of exhibitors offering everything from compressors to cameras, rebreathers to regulators, scooters to snorkels, and fins to facemasks, not to mention exotic dive resorts and outstanding liveaboards. You’ll have the opportunity to see what’s new from the world’s leading dive equipment manufacturers, plus you’ll get a look at the latest in accessories. Aquanaut, Atomic, Dive Rite, and numerous other companies will be on hand, as will DAN Asia-Pacific, C.D.A.A. (Cave Divers Association of Australia), Ocean Film Festival, and many others.
Training opportunities from organizations including SSI and PADI will be available, along with special offerings from TDI Australia, TEC Divers, and Tech Australia. OZTeK will be updating the exhibitor list as new exhibitors sign on, so be sure to check their event page periodically for new listings.
Twilight TEK Talks will take place on Saturday evening beginning at 6:30 p.m. In addition, a special photo competition and exhibition will take place, with a focus on caves, wrecks, and open categories. Winning images will be displayed in the Photographic Exhibition all weekend.
Lodging is readily available, and as the venue is located within a ten-minute train or taxi ride from Sydney’s city center, there are numerous options available. Mark your calendar for what has been described as Australia’s most successful dive show. It’s sure to be one of the highlights of your year.
